Maccabi Tel Aviv waited a long time for Eli Dassa, but in the end they will have to manage without him.
After a long and protracted summer in finding his next club, Dassa signed yesterday (Wednesday) with Dynamo Moscow for two years with an option for another season.
Desa will earn much higher sums than those offered to him by Maccabi Tel Aviv, which agreed to pay him 650,000 euros per season - a particularly high offer in terms of Israeli football.
According to estimates, Desa will earn one and a half million dollars per year not including bonuses.
The economic sanctions imposed by Europe on Russia following the war in Ukraine have already affected an Israeli player, after Aden Kartsev's deal with Dynamo was canceled due to bureaucratic difficulties in transferring the sales fee to Maccabi Netanya - however, Desa joins in a different status, as a free agent, and should not encounter difficulties in this sense.

Desa said last night that he was convinced to sign with the team through conversations with acquaintances who played in Russia in the past.

"Beavers told me a lot of good things about Dynamo, about the other teams, about the league, the city," Desa said.
"In addition, I know Slavisha Yokanovich who coached me at Maccabi Tel Aviv. We have a good understanding."
Jokanovic also sounded satisfied with the signing, and described Desa as "a right-back who likes to attack, and will help us a lot to complete this position. Eli has a lot of experience and he will contribute a lot to us."
