The police intervened to restore calm in the stands following the defeat of OM (2-0) for their entry into the Champions League

A tense post-match in London.

Clashes broke out between supporters of OM and Tottenham in the wake of Marseille's defeat (2-0) on Wednesday evening on the lawn of the English.

According to RMC Sport, some of them tried to rub shoulders with their Spurs counterparts shortly after the final whistle.

Projectiles, in particular bottles and a smoke bomb, were launched from the parking lot of OM.

A banner displayed in the stadium in LGBT colors was also torn down by some Marseille supporters.

L'Equipe and several British media evoke a crowd movement of Provençal fans towards the lawn.

The stewards intervened between the stands and the billboards, and the police also deployed to calm the spirits.

No possible police report of the evening has yet been communicated.

These scenes, in particular the throwing of smoke in the ranks of British supporters, could be worth sanctions to the Marseille club from UEFA.

Marseille, which was making its return to the Champions League this season, stood up to Tottenham for a long time on Wednesday evening, before cracking at the end of the game on a double from the Brazilian Richarlison.

Igor Tudor's men had previously been reduced to ten after defender Chancel Mbemba was sent off for a tackle on Korea's Son.

They will host Eintracht Frankfurt, heavily beaten on their lawn by Sporting (0-3), Tuesday at the Velodrome.
