The wheel of the Premier League football for the new season, in its fifty-second edition, revolved from the first round gate, which started today, where two matches were held between Al-Talia, Al-Wathba and Al-Karama with Al-Ahly of Aleppo.
In the first match that took place at the municipal stadium in Hama, Al-Wathba won a difficult victory over its host, Al-Talia, with two goals to one.
The goals of Al-Wathba were scored by Wael Al-Rifai and Muhammad Qalfat in the 65th and 80th minutes, while Al-Tale’a’s goal was scored by Muhammad Nour Khamis in the 49th minute.
In the second match, Al-Ahly of Aleppo defeated its host Al-Karama 1-0 in the match that took place at Al-Basel Stadium in Homs.
The only goal of the match was scored by Nigerian striker Okeke Afula in the 89th minute.
Hittin will receive its guest Jableh at Al-Basel Stadium this evening, and the tour will continue tomorrow with Al-Wahda meeting with Al-Jazira at Al-Jalaa Stadium in Damascus, while the army will face its neighbor Al-Majd the day after tomorrow at Al-Jalaa Stadium as well.
The Football Association had postponed the match between Al-Fatwa and Tishreen to a later time to give Tishreen an opportunity to rearrange his papers following the death of club president Tariq Zainy.
