The Algerian national football team crowned the Arab Cup for under-17 footballers by defeating its Moroccan counterpart on penalties after the end of the original time of their match with a 1-1 draw.
The Moroccan team advanced in the 51st minute of the match with a goal scored by Mohamed Archidi, and Adel Chehima scored the equalizer for Algeria one minute before the end of the original time of the match, so that the two teams ruled for penalty kicks, which Algeria settled 4-2.
The Algerian team qualified for the final match after it overtook Saudi Arabia in the semi-finals on penalties, 5-4 after a negative tie in the original time. As for the Moroccan team, it qualified for the final of the tournament by winning 2-0 over Yemen in the semi-finals.
