There are memories that never fade.

This is for sure one of them.

On October 26, 2006, the Emirates Stadium, the new enclosure of Arsenal, must be inaugurated in the presence of Elizabeth II.

But due to a bad back, the queen cannot finally make the trip.

It is Prince Philippe, her husband and Duke of Edinburgh, who replaces her.

Note, however, that the commemorative plaque for the event still indicates "officially inaugurated by Her Majesty the Queen".

As an excuse for this unexpected absence, she decides to officially invite the North London club to come and drink tea at Buckingham Palace.

“She knew we had won the game.
