Germany and the Czech Republic met in the final, after the national anthems, the Queen stepped onto the pitch, accompanied by Prince Philip and UEFA President Lennart Johansson.

First she turned to the German national team: Captain Jürgen Klinsmann greeted the Queen with a handshake and humbly bowed his head.

He then introduced each teammate individually - each DFB player shook Elizabeth II's hand.
