The small group made their way back to the hotel, when three Austrian fans attacked them and beat them • Police officers who were called to the scene did not intervene

After the 0:0 draw against Austria Vienna, Hapoel Be'er Sheva fans began to return to the hotel, making their way on the local matron.

At a certain stage, five of them: Amit Bacher, Erez Amit, Roy Shoham, Dean Stein and Shlomi Shimoni, encountered three fans of the opposing team, who attacked them and beat them with punches and kicks.

Amit Bacher describes: "We were in the matron, and fans of Austria Vienna, probably from their ultras, started beating us and took my cell phone, so I chased them until I took the phone back."

Bacher added: "Citizens who were there called the police and an ambulance, but the police remained indifferent and told us: 'This is not a serious crime and it is not certain that we will arrest the attackers.'

The police officers also ignored the request of the Be'er Sheva fans who were being attacked to be escorted to the hotel.

"They told us, 'get it together,'" said Becher, who along with his friends needed light treatment by a medical team, and finally returned safely to the hotel.
