Another day of the EuroBasket round of 16 games is in full swing and at the center is the surprising elimination of Serbia and one of the favorites to win against Italy, who beat Nikola Jokic's team 86:94.
Two more surprises were recorded, when Poland beat Ukraine 86:94 and thus surprised the big surprise of the tournament and the big story comes from the game between Finland and Croatia, where Lauri Markkanen scored 43 points and led Finland to 86:94 over Croatia and gave the Finns their record achievement since they finished sixth in 1967.

Finland - Croatia 86:94
Croatia has never lost to Finland in a major tournament, but Lauri Markkanen was bigger than them and gave the Finns their record achievement since 1967. The Scandinavian star scored 43 points (17 of 23 for two) in 32:22 minutes, also grabbed 9 rebounds and finished with an index 47 to lead his team to the quarterfinals along with Sasso Salin who scored 17 and Edson Maksoni added 16. The Serbs actually started the game well with an 8 advantage at the end of the first quarter, but since then the Italians looked better and ran away in the last quarter with a run of 2:16 in the first six minutes of the quarter.
Serbia tried to come back with 32 points and 13 rebounds from Jokic, but even the good ability of the Denver Nuggets center was not enough and the Italians stunned the European runner-up and sent her home.
On the Italian side, Marco Spesso stood out with 22 points (4 rebounds and 6 assists) and Nicolo Meli who scored 21 and added 6 rebounds.
Italy qualifies for the quarter finals where they will meet the French team.
