Since 2003, Bnei Sakhnin has not beaten Maccabi Netanya at home.
Tonight (Saturday) she was very close and deserved to do so.
However, a dramatic goal by Guy Melamed in the 91st minute was disallowed because of a tiny difference by the brewing Cardoso.
Melamed's goal, which beat Sakhnin against Hapoel Haifa in extra time in the previous round, was supposed to do justice because Sakhnin was superior, but counted 12 games in a row without a win against its black sheep.
Netanya reached situations here and there, but Sakhnin, and especially Nicolai Cardoso was closer to scoring and reached at least four good situations.
Bottom line, Netanya is the one who can be more satisfied with this draw after stopping a streak of two losses.
And Sakhnin?
According to the way she looked today, she can certainly be optimistic about the rest of the season and especially in light of the excellent ability of Biram Kiel as her leader in the center of the field.
Sakhnin will try to surprise the faltering Hapoel Beer Sheva in the next round and Netanya will try to get back on the winning track against Hapoel Haifa in the next round.
