Yishai Oliel: "They still haven't talked to me about a free ticket to the ATP, I hope I get it" | Israel today

Just before Israel's tennis team meets the Czech Republic, Israel's No. 1 racket addressed the tournament in Tel Aviv next week: "If not me, someone else will."

In exactly two weeks, the celebratory ATP tournament will start in Tel Aviv, in which Novak Djokovic, Marin Cilic and Diego Schwartzman will take part, among others.

But besides the big names of world tennis, the Israeli audience is also waiting to hear which local players will receive a free ticket to the tournament.

The one who is still waiting to find out if he will get the long-awaited ticket is Israel's number 1 racket, Yishai Oliel, who will meet the Czech Republic with the Davis team this coming weekend.

As of this moment, it appears that two local players will receive a free ticket to the main draw, but it is not yet known officially who the two will be.

"They still haven't talked to me about an ATP ticket," Oliel told Israel Hayom.

"I believe they will talk to us at the end of this week or at the beginning of next week. I hope that if I don't accept then maybe my friends will. I really hope so, so that there will be an Israeli representative besides Yoni Ehrlich (who will probably play in doubles, Czech)."

The 22-year-old tennis player also added: "I think we deserve to experience it, to feel it and I wish we could also make some big result there."

As you may remember, Oliel already took part in the ATP tournament, when he received a free ticket in St. Petersburg last year - where he lost in the first round to the Australian John Millman in two sets.
