The second round of the Champions League kicked off tonight with the big match between Bayern Munich and Barcelona in focus, with the return of the Catalan striker to the field where he played for eight years and became one of the best players in the world.
Liverpool will host Ajax at Anfield for a classic European battle in Group A and Simeone's Atletico will come to Leverkusen in Group B.

Liverpool - Ajax 0:0 (1st half)
The two European empires meet again after being drawn to the same house also in the group stage in the 2020/21 season.
After the defeat against Napoli in a 4:1 loss, the Mighty Reds will try to start a new way on a European night at Anfield, the home where Liverpool have lost only twice in home opening games in 46 European campaigns.
At the opponent from Amsterdam, the season started much better.
Alfred Sakharroder's team opened the league with a perfect record in the first six rounds and with a 0:4 victory over Rangers in the opening round of the group stage.
In the last two meetings between the clubs, Liverpool won twice with a score of 0:1, with Ajax's only victory over the English coming in 2001. Jota and Thiago returned from injuries to Klopp's lineup, and Steven Brachvin started for Ajax.
They will try to surprise at Anfield.

Bayer Leverkusen - Atletico Madrid 0:0 (1st half)
After a dramatic extra time victory over Porto in the opening round, Cholo Simeone's team will want to continue the good form in their recent games in general and Antoine Griezmann's in particular.
The French striker who scored the winning goal in the 101st minute against the Portuguese, will look for the net again in the match against Leverkusen.
The Colchoneros have only beaten the German team once away and will hope to take advantage of their bad start to the season this time as well.
Porto - Club Brugge 0:0 (1st half)
After a surprising victory in the opening round, the Belgian champions will look to steal points in Porto's draw as well.
Brugge, who have not beaten Porto since 1972, want to continue their winning streak in all competitions which currently stands at six.
Porto, on the other hand, with just one loss in the league and after a dramatic loss to Atletico Madrid last week, will try to take solace in the fact that Club Brugge have never kept a clean sheet in their nine away games in the factory.

The main match of the second round in the group stage of the Champions League will bring together Bayern Munich against the ex and one of the greatest players in its history, Robert Lewandowski, who moved to the resurgent Barcelona last summer.
The Catalans arrive in Germany without injuries, in great shape and at the top of Group C.
On the other hand, the Bavarians are faltering in the league with a draw, but after a victory in the opening round at San Siro against Inter.
The main story of the game is of course the return of the Polish striker to the stadium where the team plays in Media. He scored 344 goals and made 72 assists. At the press conference before the game, Thomas Muller was interviewed and asked about the game against his former teammate: "Sadio (Mane) told me in the last few days to be careful not to hand over to Lewandowski By mistake. The host team has lost eight of the last ten home games at the factory and will want to improve the balance when they welcome back Dimitri Payet, who returned from injury, and Alexis Sanchez, who ended his suspension from last season.
In the two past meetings between the clubs in the Europa League, the Germans had the upper hand both at home and away, but will struggle due to an opening season that included losing a lot of points.
