Despite the red glitch: the fans will continue to support Beitar | Israel Today

And even a glitch of once in 31 years will not change the fact: Jerusalem was, still is and forever will be - yellow • Even on less good days, only the Beitar crowd will keep the team in the league and the club at the front of the stage

The only ones who will keep this team in the league are the fans, and even a glitch of once in 31 years will not change the fact: Jerusalem was, still is and forever will be - yellow.

But even before the game there was a special trip to the field - scarves are draped in the ascent to Jerusalem, sirens, Betar songs and a dramatic upgrade - the new Route 16 - a significant game changer for those arriving (with no choice) by car to the field.

Another upgrade was the buffet outside Teddy's with the obligatory name 'Sheikh's Meeting'.

Finally an almost decent place to sit next to the field for a drink before the game.

There was a great atmosphere, which was a prelude to the amazing setting of the Beitari audience with the opening whistle.

Teddy is the only field in Israel where they are careful, and I am happy about it, about the playing of the national anthem before the start of the game.

Everyone who was present last night at Teddy will tell about the chills he experienced when close to 20,000 Beitarim raised their voices to the maximum singing "Come on, Come on, Come on, Come on, Come on, Come on, Come on, Ya Beitar" at the end of "Hatikva".

In general, the massive arrival and the intense cheering of all the Teddy stands provided such an electrifying atmosphere that the team's players were probably mesmerized and produced one of Beitar's worst football halves in recent years (and it's really not an easy competition) which ended only in 1:0 to Katmon.

At the end of a half you want to see 11 substitutions.

Aboxis, managing his less than good game, probably washed the players in the dressing room, and the second half opened with peak energy on the grass and in the stands with trumpet blasts from Mizrachi and chants of 'We believe, we believe.'

Throughout the minutes of the half there was a feeling of 'here it comes' and the madly bubbling volcano will explode.

It's hard to remember when Teddy was with such energy, that only required one goal to raise the stands in the air, but yesterday in the cool Teddy there was simply no one to put the ball in the net.

On the one hand, Katamon begged for a sponge and did not come to play football in the second half, on the other hand it seemed that even another five hours of the ball spinning in the square would not make it go into the net - despite this, the Beitari crowd did not stop pushing and believing until the last minute of added time.

In the end, everyone knows that we are heading for a tough season, which we reached at the very last moment and finally, although I would have been happy to avoid the situation in the first place, I still buy the statistics of losing once in 31 years to the city rival.

Next week is a particularly difficult away game against Maccabi Tel Aviv, unfortunately I will not be able to make it to the field tonight, but I am convinced that even after yesterday's loss, the crowd will continue to support, even in a game against a clearly superior team - because only the Beitari crowd will keep the team in the league And the club is at the forefront, even on less good days.
