Frankfurt/Marseille – Things aren't going so smoothly for Eintracht Frankfurt in the young season.
In the league, the SBU is currently in a rather disappointing 11th place with eight points from six games.
The euphoria for the European nights of Frankfurt is still unbroken in the club and in the environment - rightly so!
Eintracht Frankfurt visiting Marseille
Because the games in the Champions League offer everyone involved two huge opportunities.
On the one hand, taking part in the largest European club competition is an absolute highlight for players and fans alike.
At the start against Sporting from Lisbon, eight Frankfurters made their debut in the Champions League.
But even for experienced players like Mario Götze, who has already played 63 games in the premier class and is entering his tenth Champions League season, it's still something very special: "In the end, it's the best competition for me," said Götze recently at eintracht.tv.
On the other hand, a win in the south of France can unleash new strength that is urgently needed in the Bundesliga.
The first victory for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League will be historic.
But is a win against Olympique Marseille realistic?

SGE: Marseille is not an easy opponent in the Champions League
The French have enjoyed the best start to the season in club history under new coach Igor Tudor.
Eintracht coach Oliver Glasner warned against "OM" at the press conference before the game: "Olympique Marseille is in very good shape and is second in the league.
In Tottenham they were at least equal until they were outnumbered.” So the task will be difficult, but certainly not impossible for last season's Europa League champions.
