The CSD fails in its mediation to unblock the conflict with the referees

The F League and the Federation continue without reaching an agreement and the first matches of the Queen's Cup on Tuesday cannot be played

The check of the referees to women's soccer will continue without a resolution date after the meetings held this Tuesday between the F League and the Federation have ended without agreement.

The two entities were urgently summoned this Monday by the Higher Sports Council to resolve once and for all the conflict that has prevented the league season from starting, and that will also delay the start of the Queen's Cup, which was due to start this Tuesday.

Ending without an agreement, the CSD met the two organizations again this morning at its headquarters and, after a new failure, called the parties again for a new meeting that also ended without a solution.

Pablo Vilches, general director of the F League, commented upon leaving the meeting at the CSD headquarters that the positions are still very far apart, although the bosses' “no” is not a resounding “no”.

"An effort has been made by the CSD so that both parties accept the offer, but the sensations are that both parties continue as we were this morning", he explained.

Vilches has commented on the amounts that he has offered to improve the salary of the collegiate members.

"In the case of assistants, it would go from charging 168 euros per game to 1,066 (25,000 euros per year), the main ones from 300 to 1,666 (16,000 per year) and the fourth referee from 84 to 250", he commented without confirming when a new meeting could be held to unravel the conflict once and for all.

For its part,

The referees have highlighted that they are willing to reduce arbitration expenses by 650,000 euros.

“We keep trying to unblock the situation, but the difference is minimal today.

The girls have felt very undervalued”, he lamented as he left the CSD headquarters.

The referees made it clear that they do not plan to take the field until they have a contract that protects all their rights, and that implies a salary of between 50,000 and 40,000 euros for the main referee and 30,000 for the assistants, a sixth of what they charge a referee of the men's First Division.

However, according to Federation sources, several referees would be willing to lower those figures, although others refuse.

One of the solutions they propose is to go to the Ministry of Equality to mediate in this situation.

On Monday, the F League, which initially had been planted at 3,300 euros per game for the entire referee team and to cover travel expenses, raised its offer to propose a contract of 25,000 euros, social security and expenses covered, as reported when leaving the meeting Beatriz Álvarez, president of the employer's association.

The F League and the CSD considered that the negotiations were advancing and were optimistic of reaching a quick agreement, while the Federation continued to believe that these figures were too low.

Meanwhile, women's football is still stopped.

After the first day of the league could not be held as no referee appeared on the fields, the risk now is that the start of the Copa de la Reina will also be blocked.

The first four matches of the competition, scheduled for this Tuesday, cannot be held since the referees will not attend, as confirmed by Yolanda Parga, head of women's refereeing at the Federation.

Until the conflict is settled, women's football in Spain will remain up in the air.
