Freising
– With a top-class youth tournament, the TC Rot-Weiß Freising has created a challenge for its own offspring.
Also this year the talents from the Savoyer Au were more than competitive at the "Munich Airport Junior Open".
With Ole Behrmann and Jonas Jungmeier, the club presented two finalists.
TC Rot-Weiß Freising: Ole Behrmann fails in the final against top favorite Niclas Nädele
The former was one of the stars in the men's promotion to the second state league in the summer. At the Junior Open, he was Freising's trump card in the M 21 main class so that he started in the extended circle of favourites.
In the first two rounds, Behrmann came on as the favorite and did his homework with a 6:2, 6:2 against Max Reischl (Bergkirchen) and a 6:0, 6:0 against Yannick Vollmer (Kümmersbruck).
In the quarter-finals, Beppo Helmensdorfer (Lindau), who was seeded fourth, was waiting for a bigger caliber.
The Freisinger bit into the match after a false start and won 1:6, 7:5, 10:8.
After this race to catch up, the next drama followed in the semifinals.
Against Lovis Bertermann (Großhesselohe), who was seeded second, the match tiebreak returned, where the local hero again had the upper hand 6:4, 1:6, 10:4.
In the final, top favorite Niclas Nädele (Iphitos Munich), who is in 614th place in the national ranking, was waiting.
Behrmann lost 4:6, 4:6 to the number one on the seed list, which marched through the competition without losing a set.
Jonas Jungmeier was even closer to winning the tournament in the U14 age group. Here the Freisinger was seeded in third place and lost in the final to Elias Rus-Barna (Nuremberg), who was in fourth, 1:6, 6:3, 7:10.
The later winner had already stopped the run of Freisinger Fabian Altmann in the semifinals with 6:3, 6:2.
He had previously caused a huge sensation in the second round with the 6:2, 6:0 against Vincent Schwarz (Aschheim), who was second seeded.
Altmann won three straight matches in straight sets.
Jungmeier celebrated four wins in two sets on the way to the final and gave up just eight games.
He won the first two games mercilessly 6-0, 6-0 against Konstantin von der Grün (Schrobenhausen) and Simon Bayrhof (Luitpoldpark Munich).
After the 6:3, 6:1 over Maximilian Noventa (Nuremberg), who was seeded fifth, the Freisinger won surprisingly clearly against Maximilian Wirth (Friedberg), who was in first place, with 6:1, 6:3.
Jungmeier and Behrmann showed at the tournament that they are high hopes for the men's team.
In the M16 age group, Raphael Lee from Freising was a co-favorite as third on the seeding list.
He started the competition with a bye and a smooth 6:1, 6:3 against Tizian Heincke (Dachau).
Luck was lacking in the quarterfinals and Lee lost 4:6, 6:4 and 5:10 against eventual finalist Benjamin Wawro (Pfaffenhofen).
In the age group M 12, the starters from the district were just outsiders.
Maximilian Müller, Felix Weißflog, Lucas Villalobos (all Freising), Oskar Harenburg Sanchez (Eching) and Paul Pippig (Zolling) all had to pack up their rackets after the first match.
