For the first time since his dismissal at Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel speaks up.
You can tell from the words how heavy his disappointment is.
London – It took a few days for Thomas Tuchel to comment on his release from Chelsea.
The statement now published on
clearly shows how much the dismissal affects his mood.
He is grateful to the club and so it is not surprising that he does not say a bad word about the London club.
What is striking, however, is that one level of responsibility for the blues is not mentioned in the warm words.
Tuchel "devastated"
The tweet – written in English – is primarily aimed at his fans from the island and various actors around Chelsea FC.
Tuchel was "devastated" after losing his job with the Londoners and classified his statement as "one of the most difficult statements I have ever had to write".
Which is probably also due to the fact that, by his own admission, he felt at home in London “both professionally and personally.”
"I'm honored to have been a part of the history of this club," he continues to express his deepest admiration for the club, which has already unveiled a new manager in Graham Potter.
Tuchel also looks back on the past great successes of winning the Champions League and winning the Club World Cup in 2021, which he was able to achieve with the club just six months after taking over the position as coach.
Tuchel thanks everyone, just not the top floor
The German, as his words suggest, visibly felt comfortable in the Chelsea environment.
And so he thanks a whole range of people around the club: "Thank you to all the staff, the players and the fans who made me feel welcome from the start." Who, presumably, consciously in this list missing are the owners of the association.
It's no secret that Tuchel hasn't had a particularly good relationship with new owner Todd Boehly, who took over the club from Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich following the British government's sanctions against him.
Recently there have been rumors about a difference of opinion between Boehly and Tuchel regarding a possible Ronaldo commitment, which is said to have further poisoned the already strained relationship.
