Nitai Hasson and Noa Lasri had a good start to the 470 European Sailing Championships in Turkey, after finishing the five sailings of the first two days of the competition in the top ten (9,3,3,5,6) and are currently placed in eighth place overall.
Gil Cohen and Noam Matari started well yesterday, but a cruise in 24th place and two cruises in 14th and 17th places relegated them to 22nd place overall, out of 52 pairs.
Yesterday and today the sailors struggled with very strong winds that blew at the competition site.
Tomorrow the forecast is for a certain moderation in winds and slightly more favorable sailing conditions.
The two Israeli pairs made it to the golden house and starting tomorrow will fight for a place on the podium with 25 other European teams.
Before the Israeli team are three more sailing days, in which they will try to improve their position until the medal sailing on Sunday.
It should be remembered that the biggest competition of the year in the industry will be the world championship that will be held here in Israel, in Sdot Yam next month.
