Biathlon Olympic champion (26) is pregnant and will miss the entire season

That's a year: first Olympic gold, then pregnancy.

For biathlon star Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, 2022 will probably remain unforgettable.

Paris - Flag in hand, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet crossed the finish line at the Olympic Games on February 18, 2022.

She had written biathlon history, she won gold in the mass start.

A very special moment for the winter athlete, it was her first victory at the Olympics.

With the relay she won bronze in Pyeongchang in 2018.

So the gold medal was a great start to 2022, which should be even better.

The French woman recently announced that she is pregnant.

In early September, she posted a picture of herself at the shooting range.

She is facing the camera from the side from behind in the standing position, the bulge on her stomach is clearly visible.

News that the 26-year-old is only too happy to share.

She writes: "And now we're waiting, day 123." She warmly thanks French customs and the French Ski Association "for their support".

Olympic champion Braisaz-Bouchet is not the only one, Franzi Hildebrand is also pregnant

"See you next year, in the biathlon stadiums," adds Braisaz-Bouchet.

Unlike the German Franziska Hildebrand (35) - who is also pregnant - it sounds like a continuation of the career for the French.

In addition to the gold and silver medals, winning the overall mass start World Cup (2021/2022) was her greatest success.

Now some competitors should take a deep breath, because the soon-to-be mom will not cause them any more problems on the cross-country ski run in 2022/2023.

Nevertheless, the greats of biathlon sport congratulated dutifully.

Swede Hanna Oeberg wrote in the comments column of the Instagram post, as did Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold and Marte Olsbu Røiseland.

Franzi Preuss, who recently showed her fans her new wooden house, wrote: "Congratulations Justine".
