Hans-Peter Walter is no longer the coach of FC Hörgersdorf.

Markus Berger announced this yesterday on behalf of the club.

Hörgersdorf – "So far the season hasn't gone the way we all imagined," says Berger, who is part of Hörgersdorf's sporting director.

Together with the department management and the trainer, an early end of the term of office was agreed.

His successor will be one of Walter's predecessors: Felix Stocklauser.

In an interview with the local newspaper, Walter emphasizes that the decision was made by mutual agreement.

"A lot of things didn't fit anymore.

It wasn't fun anymore," he explains.

But the whole thing has nothing to do with the relegation drama.

FCH's misfortune was reported throughout Germany, with the decider against Türkgücü Erding being canceled in injury time through no fault of their own, despite being in the lead with a double advantage.

The FCH was relegated to the A class.

But that was ticked off, says Walter.

He and his team started the season with the appropriate motivation.

"But somehow my expectations were different," says the 56-year-old.

Holidays, the folk festivals in Dorfen and Erding - "everything seemed to be more important to some than football".

Already equipped with a thin squad, even a test match had to be canceled due to a lack of players.

When only five players came to training, it was called off.

"That was the exception, but participation in training was disappointing overall," said Walter, who took over the team in the 2021/22 season.

At that time still with assistant coach Lorenz Irl, who now only helps out sporadically by appointment as goalkeeping coach.

“Then I was suddenly alone while the others rumbled onto the folk festival.

But Walter also admits that the chemistry was no longer right.

"At least not in part," says Walter.

In a team there are different characters and hardship cases.

"You can't nominate everyone.

Overall, I got along very well with the people here.” That's why he was happy to sit down with the club officials and look for a solution.

"A breath of fresh air doesn't hurt," says Walter.

“And they found a very good solution in Felix Stocklauser.

He knows the team and would also be a brutal reinforcement for the very thin squad."

According to Berger, however, Stocklauser will not be available as a player for health reasons.

He also makes it clear that Stocklauser's goals are less important than his intuition as a coach.

"We've had a very intense time over the past year and a half.

It's important that the fun of football comes back again," says Berger, who shares the office of sporting director with two other players.

The new coach will not be given any instructions regarding promotion.

A change was necessary, "and the timing is good because not so many games have been played yet."

But Berger also makes it clear that the coach was not primarily responsible for the sporting misery (only seven points after five games).

"Now the team is challenged," says the 27-year-old.

"We hope this decision will give the team a positive boost so that the performance and results can be what everyone aspires to be."

Stocklauser led his first training session on Tuesday evening.

“15 players were there.

Everyone was very committed.

But I'm aware that some people came because they were curious," says the 34-year-old.

There hasn't been a big speech yet, he reserves that for today's final training before the game against SG Reichenkirchen.

His first official act: the Cooper test, a twelve-minute unit that provides information about the fitness level.

Backtracking regarding his predecessor – that's not Stocklauser's thing.

"He did a good job." Now it's just a new beginning.

"Everyone has their chance to start again from scratch." And he also said: "The fun has to come back."

Speaking of coming back: The new coach confirms Berger's statement that he will no longer play because of his knee problems, "actually not anymore," he adds.

Because actually he didn't want to be part of the relegation game at the time - then he ran up and even scored a goal.

But now he's looking forward to his coaching job - and his return after three years - before Walter, Martin Grasser held the office.

And Hans-Peter Walter?

He looks forward to spending more time with his family.

He has also been a referee for 25 years.

"Maybe I'll whistle a bit more." The referee group Erding would be happy.
