Again coming out of a lost situation.

After already trailing by eight points towards the end, the French team won tonight (Wednesday) in overtime in the quarter-finals against Italy 85:93 and continues its successes from the last decade.

Since 2011, she has been on the podium at every major tournament, except once.

In the semi-finals, she will meet the winner between Slovenia and Poland, who will meet later this evening.

Against Turkey in the round of 16, Chedi Osman's two penalty fouls gave France extra time and victory.

Today, Simone Pontacchio's two free throws 16 seconds before the end with a 2 lead for Italy brought the French to overtime again and, as mentioned, to victory.

The hero of the French is center Toma Hertel (20 points) who scored the basket that forced overtime and continued his dominance there as well.

Hertel is making a comeback in the tournament, after not participating in the Real Madrid games in the last part of the season.

Rudy Gover scored 19 and added 14 rebounds.

For Italy: Pontacchio and Marco Spesso scored 21 goals.
