The Republic Judo Championship for men, women, young men and women, held by the Game Federation in Al-Fayhaa Sports City in Damascus, concluded with the participation of male and female players who represented most of the provinces, in addition to the police and army authorities.
The men’s weights championship resulted in the victory of Muhammad Munjid (60 kg) “Aleppo”, Muhammad Najm (66 kg), Hassan Bayan (73 kg), Moayed Al-Taba’ (81 kg), Abdul Salam Haj Kaddour (90 kg) and Muhammad Ghassan Haiba (over 100 kg), all from Al-Shurta Club, while he won Army player Mohamed Qassem, weighing 100 kg.
As for the women’s category, its competitions ended with the victory of the players Tasneem Al-Taba’ (The Police), Nancy Matraji (Lattakia), Sama Kanaan (Sweida), Aya Al-Ahmad (Tartous), Dana Al-Nabwani (Sweida), Jodi Obeid (Lattakia) and Marwa Shalabi (Quneitra) with weights 48 kg, 52 kg, 57 kg and 63 kg, 70 kg, 78 kg and above 78 kg, respectively.
The youth weights championship also resulted in the victory of Ahmed Ashqro “Quneitra” with a weight of 55 kg, Muhammad Munjid “Halab” at a weight of 60 kg and Abdul Rahman Asaad with a weight of 66 kg, and the police players Omar Shehadeh and Majd Haj Kaddour with a weight of 81 kg and 90 kg, and the Damascus players Ahmed Al-Qaed, Fouad Noah and Abdul Rahman Abd al-Rahim won with weights of 73 kg, 100 kg and over 100 kg, and in the young women’s category, Nour Al-Huda Al-Shawaf, Rama Qaz Ali and Judy Obeid won with weights 44 kg, 48 kg, 78 kg, and Suwayda’s Laila Kanaan, Sama Kanaan, Dana Al Nabwani and Dalia Dawara won with weights 52 kg, 57 kg, 70 kg and over 78 kg. And Tartous player Aya Al-Ahmad, with a weight of 63 kg.
The Police Club came first in the men's and women's general rankings, while the As-Suwayda national team came first in the men's and women's categories.
