A title and second place, that was the result of the Erdinger Kickboxer at the German Championships in Düren.

Düren/Erding – Paul Kästner dominated the light heavyweight (-81 kg) almost at will and won the final by breaking off.

Dennis Völker fought his way to second place in the super heavyweight class, confirming his steady improvement in form.

Title contender Reza Rezaei (-63.5 kg), on the other hand, was knocked out in the prelims

It would have been better for the Erdinger Kickboxer if there hadn't been some unfortunate factors.

For example, the top favorite in the women's class up to 56 kg, Tatjana Obermeier, had to stay at home due to illness.

Emma Winter, title contender in the class up to 65 kg, suffered a painful thumb injury at her fall festival fight, which first has to be cured.

And last but not least, Anna Hofmann from Erding (youth class -70 kg) was already over after the weigh-in, because the registered opponents didn't show up for the scales or didn't bring the weight.

So there was no competition here.

Reza Rezaei had a pitch-black day when he had to face Richard Homer from Ingolstadt in the light welterweight preliminary round.

Rezaei was clearly leading on points after the first round and collected more points in the second round with nice fist and foot hits.

But suddenly, a little inattention and a round kick from Homer, fired out of nowhere, landed squarely on Rezaei's chin.

Erdinger fell to the ground and couldn't get back on his feet.

"Annoying, but that's kickboxing," commented his trainer Peter Lutzny.

Dennis Völker reached the final in the super heavyweight category (+91 kg) and faced Anton Holler from Deggendorf, as in the autumn festival comparison.

Völker was fully motivated because he wanted revenge.

At 2.04 meters tall, he was clearly superior to Holler in terms of range and used this advantage with his long lead hand.

Although he was able to keep the constantly pressing Holler at a distance, the Deggendorfer still scored some good hits in close combat.

The decision came in the last ten seconds of the third lap.

Völker's narrow lead on points was destroyed shortly before the end with a nice fist hit by Holler.

The judges decided with 2:1 votes for Holler.

Nevertheless, it was a great success for Völker.

The Erdinger coaching team was able to sit back and relax as Paul Kästner stepped into the ring.

The Erdinger clearly dominates the light heavyweight division at the moment and has once again impressively underpinned this supremacy.

He made it through to the finals almost effortlessly, where he met Andre Holzer from Schleswig-Holstein.

Kästner started a bit cautiously in the first round, but then got really serious in round two, so that the referee stopped the match because the Erdinger was too superior and Kästner was able to celebrate the championship title.
