The 18-year-old midfielder of Barcelona and who is considered one of the future stars of world football - Gabi - signed this evening (Thursday) the extension of his contract with the club until 2026 in an exciting ceremony held at the Camp Nou stadium in front of 4,000 fans, family members and friends of the player.
Gabi, who grew up in Barca, made his debut last season under Ronald Koeman and then went on to provide impressive ability, which led him to the Spanish national team.
Many luxury clubs around Europe groped about the possibility of signing him last summer, but the player wanted to continue playing only at his youth club.

The president of Barcelona, Juan Laporte, was present with Gabi when he signed the deal and spoke warmly about it afterwards.
"Today is a historic day because we are looking at the present and the future of Barca. Gabi represents talent and effort," he said, "This is a happy day for Barca, the player and all his teammates. I am grateful that his family is here and I thank Ivan de la Peña (his agent) , who encouraged him to stay at Barca because he had many other offers," he added.
