Juan Rubiales, uncle and former head of the presidential cabinet of Luis Rubiales, current president of the Spanish Football Federation, declared on May 30 voluntarily before the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office the payment of a party with girls in a house in Salobreña (Granada) charged to cards of the federal entity.

The content of the declaration, advanced by

El Mundo

and to which this newspaper has also had access, has been denied by the federation in a statement.

“The RFEF deeply regrets and categorically denies the statements made by the former chief of staff of the presidency in the Prosecutor's Office.

Despite the seriousness of the alleged facts, Juan Rubiales has not provided a single piece of evidence either in the Prosecutor's Office or in court to support his accusations.

Neither on that date nor on any other was a single euro dedicated to issues that are not specific to the federative activity.

This is one more step in the infamous campaign that the president has been suffering in recent months,” reads the federal statement.

In the statement before the prosecutor, Juan Rubiales recounts the alleged party, at which he was present, as one of the reasons for the disagreements with his nephew, which ended up costing him his position as chief of staff and later his dismissal.

Currently, Rubiales's uncle is in a judicial process after denouncing the federation for workplace harassment and

mobbing,

while the federative body denounced him for illegally obtaining information and revealing secrets.

Rubiales' uncle told the prosecutor that at the beginning of August 2020 the chalet in Salobreña was rented for a few days of work, but that they were not such, but for the use and enjoyment of his nephew and people he trusted in the federation and also the former soccer player Nené, a friend of Luis Rubiales.

Sources familiar with the alleged party assure that the girls were not prostitutes and that their presence in the chalet did not force them to have sexual relations with those present.

“The former chief of staff refers to a coexistence of planning and organization of federative executives in the town of Salobreña in which the accommodation was entirely paid by each assistant, including Juan Rubiales.

Neither the employees nor the RFEF incurred in any irregularity”, defends the federation in its note

In his testimony at the prosecutor's office, Juan Rubiales also testified that one of the definitive reasons for the breakup between him and his nephew was related to a conversation in which the latter talked about getting money to help his father and he told him that he could put it out of his pocket.

Luis Rubiales, according to the witness, replied that they should find a way to get the money from the federation, to which the uncle refused and his nephew invited him to leave and blurted out that he did not want to see him again for over there.

Two days later, according to Juan Rubiales in his statement, he receives a letter informing him of his dismissal as head of the presidential cabinet.

The facts described also indicate the hiring of a detective agency in August 2019 to follow David Aganzo, president of the soccer players' union (AFE).

According to Juan Rubiales, the payment to the detective agency was made through a company owned by Ramón Caravaca, partner of the GC law firm, of the federal external advisor Tomás González Cueto.

Juan Rubiales assures that the GC office included in its billing to the federation the amounts of the services of the detective agency, although he did not know the heading in which they were included, but he presented a copy with the fees of the surveillance company.
