Revenge or justified accusation?

It is still too early to tell.

Only two months before the next World Cup in Qatar, the only certainty is that Luis Rubiales would have done well without this new affair concerning him.

Already involved in an investigation into the organization of the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, last January, the president of the Spanish football federation (RFEF) is this time implicated, among other things, for a scandal of sexual order.

And not by anyone since it was his own uncle, Juan, who spoke to the anti-corruption prosecutor's office about it, comments to which the famous daily

El Mundo

had access.

The one who was chief of staff within the federation was dismissed in July.

According to

El Mundo

, Juan Rubiales denounced the payment of private parties with federal money, in a voluntary statement dated May 30.

According to him, Luis Rubiales organized in early 2020 “a party in a private chalet” in Salobreña, a town located in the province of Granada.

“The rental of this house was only for the pleasure of him and his most direct team, paying the expenses with the company cards of the RFEF itself, continued Juan Rubiales.

At this party, a group of eight or ten young girls was invited by the former footballer and friend of President Nené”.

The official subject was “a few days of work, but that was not it”.

And as if that were not enough, Juan Rubiales added that, on August 18, 2020, his nephew told him that he had to “find a formula to bring money to his father”.

He offered to help with his own money, but the president replied “that we have to find something to get the money out of the RFEF”.

The uncle refused the proposal, which would have resulted in his disgrace.

Finally, Luis Rubiales would also have used the services of a private detective, paid by the coffers of the RFEF, to carry out a private investigation on David Aganzo, the president of the AFE, the union of Spanish footballers.

The Spanish federation was quick to react and made it known by means of an official note that these accusations are totally false: "Neither on this date nor on any other has a single euro been spent on questions which are not specific to the federative activity”.
