The Israeli national team did fail in the European Championship and was eliminated in the group stage, but for Danny Abdia, it was more than a personal tournament, in which the Israeli forward recorded averages of 14.6 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists.
A Washington Wizards player hopes that the ability he discovered will get him a higher place in the team's hierarchy from the capital of the United States, and yesterday (Thursday) they marked the keys to that in "Athletic".
Reporter Josh Robbins, who covers the Wizards, answered questions from surfers and one of them concerned Avdia's chances of returning to the starting five.
"I can see Danny Avdia as the starting small forward, because he would add to the top five in defense and moving the ball," Robbins wrote, "he also doesn't need many shots. The key for Avdia will be to improve his shooting from the spot, especially the three. If he doesn't improve As a scorer, it will create a problem for Washington on offense when Bradley Beal and the rest are on the court."
The journalist clarified: "I estimate that Will Barton will start the season as the first small forward in the rotation, especially since he is a proven veteran, but I like the idea of Barton as an offensive addition to the second five and Abdia as a defensive reinforcement to the starting five."

The Wizards, by the way, will begin the preseason on September 24 with a full roster, and Robbins reported last night that that includes Avdia even though the Israeli sustained a groin injury during the Eurobasket.
