The player who started the seventh season in Maccabi Tel Aviv was interviewed by the magazine of the league director, and talked about the collaboration with Oded Ketch: "I am very excited. I loved playing for him in the national team, I loved his game philosophy"

The game season is approaching and after the Paris tournament, Maccabi Tel Aviv will take off in the coming days to Greece, where they will meet Olympiakos and then participate in the tournament named after Pavlos Yanakopoulos.

Just before all of this, Jake Cohen was available for an interview in the league manager's basketball magazine "Game Plan", during which he referred to the previous season, which ended with qualifying for the Euroleague playoffs, but without a championship and a cup in the local arena.

"It was very difficult," admitted the big man who also played with the Israeli national team in the European Championship this summer.

"We had clear goals that we set for ourselves at the beginning of the season. We had the talent to achieve them, but we didn't do it."

"When you know you have the ability to do something but you don't do it, it hurts even more," mentioned Jake Cohen, and clarified: "What happened last season brings me to this season only more determined and more excited, and full of motivation not to repeat the season passed. To create good energies, a good atmosphere in the dressing room and I'm excited for what awaits us."

On returning to collaborate with Oded Ketch, after playing under the coach in the national team as well, Cohen said: "I am very excited. I loved playing for him in the national team, I loved his game philosophy, his method and his behavior. Many of the things he does suit me very well and if I were a coach, I probably would have done similar things. I was very excited when he was appointed Maccabi coach because we have a wonderful history together. We had team success together and I have no doubt that it will happen again and that it will work again."

Are you thinking of moving into coaching after you finish your career?

"On the contrary. I'm pretty sure I don't want to be a coach when I retire, there are many things you can experiment with the day after and I think that's what I'll do."
