The wrestler Amir Mohammad Yazdani saw the draw for the competition the day before and after realizing that an athlete from the "Zionist regime" was supposed to appear in front of him, he arrived at the weigh-in and was disqualified when his weight was over the allowed weight • Iranian fans recognized him and began to sing cheering songs in his honor

The Iranian wrestler Amir Mohammad Yazdani boycotted last night (Thursday) the fight in the World Championship being held in Belgrade against the Israeli Josh Feinsilver, after he did not show up for the fight.

According to reports in Iran, Yazdani, who competes in the weight category up to 70 kg, saw the draw for the competition the day before and after realizing that an athlete from the "Zionist regime" was supposed to appear in front of him, he arrived at the traditional weigh-in and was disqualified when his weight was 300 grams over the allowed weight.

Following this, the Israeli qualified directly for the round of 16, where he lost to an Uzbek opponent and was eliminated from the rest of the championship, in which four more Israelis are competing who also failed to achieve special achievements.

On the other hand, in the video that was circulated, Yazdani is seen being received as a national hero when he came to sit with the audience to watch the rest of the competition, where Iranian fans recognized him and began to sing cheering songs in his honor, while he is seen raising his hands up and thanking them.

This is not the first time that Iranian athletes boycott fights against Israelis, when they receive an order from above not to come to the meeting on the grounds of injury, or disqualification as in the current case.

The biggest and best-known story of all, is of course the judaist Said Moulay, who was forced to lose on purpose in the semi-finals of the World Championship in 2019, in order not to compete in the final against Sagi Muki.
