Thomas Müller presents the new Wiesn jersey - and is reminiscent of earlier times

The largest folk festival in the world begins in Munich this weekend.

Matching this, Thomas Müller presents FC Bayern's Wiesn jersey.

Munich – The people of Munich are looking forward to the Wiesn, which finally starts again on Saturday after a two-year break.

The stars from FC Bayern around Thomas Müller are no exception - the joint Oktoberfest visit by the Bayern squad has a long tradition.

Right on time for the start of the folk festival, Thomas Müller and his colleagues presented the new Wiesn jersey that FC Bayern and adidas developed together.

And that is slowly becoming a long-running favorite: for the third time there is a special outfit on the occasion of the Bavarian folk festival.

The dominant colors of this year's jersey for Thomas Müller and his teammates are dark red and gold.

The Bordeaux red is reminiscent of earlier times - in the 2006/2007 season, Bayern's "Leiberl" was last kept in this color.

The logo, the accents on the sleeves, the three stripes on the shoulders and the sponsors are highlighted in gold and thus draw the link to the classic costume.

In the neck you can also see an alpine edelweiss - typical Oktoberfest.

The Telekom sponsor logo is new and can be seen in this look for the first time on an FC Bayern jersey.

In Oktoberfest outfit against Bayer Leverkusen

Manufacturer adidas writes: "The highlight is the special golden embroidery, which is inspired by traditional Bavarian craftsmanship and adorns the logo of the German record champions".

The record champion is thus making his connection to Bavarian tradition clear.

The jersey will be used for the first time on September 30 in the match against Bayer Leverkusen.

Thomas Müller presents the new jersey on Instagram

Thomas Müller is a jersey specialist anyway, after all he had a special jersey ready for Gary Lineker as a gift.

And Thomas Müller also presented the Leiberl for the new season to the fans himself.

Now Müller immediately shared the picture of the new Wiesn outfit in his Instagram story and, together with the Bayern squad, received many positive comments.

"Very beautiful.

Ordered it yesterday.” or “I really like it” remark the fans.

The Wiesn jersey is now available in retail and online.
