When coach Marco Rose returned to the stadium of his former club from Mönchengladbach, Borussia defeated RB Leipzig 3-0 (2-0).
After RB's 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund last week, Leipzig also missed out on winning against the second former team, Roses.
The Gladbachers benefited from many defensive mistakes made by Leipzig.
Jonas Hofmann put Borussia ahead with a brace (10th minute, 35th).
A remarkable lob by Ramy Bensebaini (53rd) ensured the early decision.
As a result, Leipzig was not able to repeat the good performance in the Champions League in the narrow 2-0 defeat against Real Madrid and slipped to 12th place in the table after only two wins from seven games. Mönchengladbach, on the other hand, moved up after three games without a win thanks to the success Leipzig in sixth place.
Accompanied by a 20-minute whistle concert against ex-Gladbach manager Max Eberl, who according to media reports is leaving for RB Leipzig, both teams went into the game with a lot of physical effort and speed.
In the first ten minutes, Leipzig alternated with one of Gladbach's urges, and Borussia also scored promptly: RB couldn't clear the ball in the penalty area, so Joe Scally was able to cross from the baseline.
RB goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi cleared Marcus Thuram's header flat to the left, where Jonas Hofmann rushed up and completed the top corner to make it 1-0.
RB then put the opponent under pressure with early pressing, but Mönchengladbach stood securely and went about their work robustly.
This had an effect when Thuram David Raum took the ball in the forward movement, started the counterattack and played right to Hofmann, who thoughtfully put in the 2-0 on the bottom left (35th).
Gladbach robust, Leipzig wild birds behind
Gladbach had won 60 percent of the duels up to this point.
Leipzig kept getting stuck on the Gladbach defense, balls in depth were missing.
Striker Timo Werner came on in the second half to offer the necessary running distances.
RB Leipzig started briskly, came to a conclusion through Dominik Szoboszlai (48th), but continued to defend catastrophically at the back.
RB couldn't clear the ball again after a corner kick, Lars Stindl crossed the ball in high from the edge of the penalty area, Ramy Bensebaini took it and lobbed it over Gulácsi from seven meters to make it 3-0 (53 ').
While Jonas Hofmann could have humiliated RB with a little more luck with his degrees, RB didn't manage to counterattack cleanly until the end and lost after a tired performance.
