A great achievement for the Israeli national team swimmer Yonatan Ahadot at the World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships, which is currently being held in Seychelles.
Today (Saturday) the Israeli finished in fourth place in the 10 km swim with a time of 1:59:05.2 hours, and recorded the record achievement of an Israeli youth swimmer in this class at the Olympic distance.
Already at the opening, the Hungarian David Bathlem ran away, followed by the two Italians, Pasquale Giordano and Giuseppe Ilario.
After the three, a group of quality swimmers was formed, including Ehadot, who, thanks to an excellent finish, was able to beat the group and finish in fourth place overall.
By the way, this is the biggest world championship in the industry with over 200 participants from 35 countries.
Yonatan Ehadot was particularly excited at the end and said: "It was a very difficult year, the training was very successful, but in the competitions he always missed out.
I gave the best mental preparation I can give in this competition, and it paid off in the end and I was very, very excited.
I want to thank my family, my coach Amir Ofer, my former coach Hanan Gilad, my team and the coaches here in Seychelles Pavel Pasin and Sharon Azovel.'
The coach of the Israeli open water team, Amir Ofer, said: "I am very proud of Jonathan, a very talented swimmer, who worked hard all year and progressed, even if we did not always see it in competitions and there were some disappointments along the way, he did not give up and came with a lot of motivation to the last part of the season to prove Himself.
I am proud of all the swimmers of the team, who worked very hard all year, and represented us with honor.
We will take these energies already now for the next season, both in the youth sector and in the seniors, we will set new goals and we will go there with all our energy.'
