"There are very big gaps between us and Maccabi Tel Aviv," says Beitar Jerusalem midfielder Aviel Zargari to Israel Hayom, who yesterday (Saturday) saw his team suffer a fourth for the second time this season and drop to last place in the table.
Zargari continued to talk about the loss in Bloomfield: "It's a very painful loss. I don't think we weren't aggressive or didn't fight enough. We stood back, that was our game method, we wanted to grab balls and sting them in bursts, but unfortunately the game plan didn't work."
Think the break has come in time for you?
"The fact that there is now a break is great for us. We need this break to consolidate. It will help us to be more prepared and consolidate even more until the next game."
How did you deal this summer with all the talk about your possible move to Maccabi Haifa?
"I tried as much as possible to disconnect and block out background noise. Check my device, I deleted all the sports apps I had. All the things around me are less interesting, I try to concentrate only on the field and work hard mostly."

You had a slump last season, share a bit about what you went through.
"I won't lie, it was a difficult time for me. I also had my first injury and had a different struggle. It was difficult for me to come back after the injury and the team was in turmoil, but thank God it's behind me. It's true, there was a less good season, but as an athlete I always have to look forward, and continue to work hard."
Are you able to stay in the league this season?
"Certainly we can stay, there is no question here at all. There is the professional team that does a good job and I'm sure also about strengthening."

And what is really going on with the matter of reinforcements for Beitar? After the terrible performance against Maccabi Tel Aviv, about which they said in the team: "We looked like a shame and disgrace, we were not even able to make a bunker", there are several doubts for the professional team regarding the reinforcement.
As first published in "Israel Hayom", the Yellow-Blacks approached Leon Nicolasco, and although his team wants to sell him and not loan him, the capital believes that a deal will be possible, but the professional team only has a budget to bring in one senior player and they are debating between him and signing a goalkeeper.
The point is that a new problem was added to the debate between a striker and a goalkeeper due to the injury of the brakeman Oral Degani, who apparently tore his hamstring and may be absent from the courts for a period of two months.
Following the injury in question, Beitar is considering signing another stopper and the name of Idan Nahmias, who is not currently playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv, has already come up as a candidate for Beit Vagan.
