"Vinicius you are a monkey": the players' agent created a racist storm together with the fans of Atlético Madrid | Israel today

2022-09-19T09:26:32.199Z

After he didn't like the victory dances of the Real star, the chairman of the association of football agents Pedro Bravo lost his tongue and said: "Vinicius must stop playing the monkey" • The Colchoneros fans turned it into a repulsive cheer • The Spanish champion threatens to sue • Vinicius: "No I'll stop dancing"

The violent game displayed yesterday (Sunday) by Atletico Madrid in the loss to Real Madrid, turned out to be the least ugly thing that enveloped the derby held in the Wanda Metropolitano.

At the center of the storm is the striker of the Blancos, Vinicius Jr., who likes to dance a little samba after a goal he scores, sometimes in defiance in front of the fans or the opposing team's bench.

The one who didn't like this is Pedro Bravo, who holds the title of "Chairman of the Football Agents Association" in Spain. He lost his tongue and expressed himself thus on one of the television channels: "Vinicius will have to respect his opponents.

If you want to dance, go to a samba party in Brazil.

In Spain you must respect your opponents and stop playing the monkey."

The noise surrounding the statement was not long in coming.

First it was used by Atlético Madrid fans who gathered outside the Wanda Metropolitano, before the derby game, and burst into song.

"Vinicius you are a monkey, Vinicius you are a monkey".

Pedro Bravo, President of the Association of Spanish Agents:

"Vinicius will have to respect the opponents.

If you want to dance, go to the sambadrome in Brazil.

In Spain, you have to respect rivals & stop playing the m*nkey.”

Bravo was accused of being the one who inspired the racist song, and Real Madrid are already threatening to sue him for the statement.

Bravo did try to apologize and claimed that he was misunderstood, but it seems to be too little too late.

Even Vinicius himself responded to Bravo's words and said: "As long as the color of the skin is more important than the bright light in the eyes - there will be a war here. This phrase is tattooed on my body... They say that the joy disturbs them, apparently the joy of the victory of a black Brazilian in Europe particularly disturbs them" .

Vinicius continued: "For your information, my desire to win, to smile and the sparkle in my eyes is greater than all this. I was a victim of xenophobia and racism in one word, but all this did not start yesterday.

"A few weeks ago they made my dances a crime, but these dances are not mine. They belong to Ronaldinho, Neymar, Pacquet, Griezmann... It's a dance that symbolizes global diversity. People should accept it, respect it. I'm not going to stop ".

Keep dancing @vinijr, it's a free world, the worst they can do is to keep moaning about it.

Vinicius was joined by other Brazilian footballers.

Tottenham striker Richarlison revealed that he sent an angry message to Bravo: "I wrote to him that he is shit, but also that he can solve the problem he created and that he must do it quickly."

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus also joined the protest.

He celebrated his goal against Brentford on Sunday by performing a dance, which included slightly disrespectful gestures, aimed at Bravo and the Atlético fans.
