Mick Schumacher: The future at Haas is uncertain – recently there have been rumors of a change
It is still unclear how Schumacher will continue after his second season.
Michael Schumacher's son was still on the siding at Haas in the summer, but then showed some appealing performances.
However, no decision has yet been made about continued employment, also because team owner Gene Haas
wants to wait and see according to a report by the
motorsport-total.com portal.
But time is of the essence, also because most teams have already allocated two cockpits for next year.
According to rumors, Schumacher is also on the wish list at Alpine, but he is only one of several candidates there, Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan are currently the favorites for the Renault team's cockpit.
The same apparently applies to Nico Hulkenberg.
Schumacher team boss Günther Steiner: "Nico is a candidate like everyone else"
According to the
motorsport-total.com
report, the name Hülkenberg is circulating at two racing teams.
Alpine and Schumacher's team Haas should have the Emmericher on the list.
Haas team boss Günther Steiner recently even confirmed a basic interest in the experienced pilot: "Everyone who has a super license is on the list," said the South Tyrolean to the portal.
"Nico is a candidate like everyone else because he has a super license, he has already driven in Formula 1 and he has experience."

Those responsible for Haas now have to make a decision – keep Schumacher or exchange it.
The Haas pilot has shown more consistent performances this season, but the media hype surrounding him is said to bother owner Gene Haas.
The fact that Steiner and Hülkenberg had talked about a collaboration in the past that ultimately didn't materialize could be seen as a minus point for Schumi-Junior.
In addition, the German Haas sponsor “1&1” would probably be out if Schumacher were to leave, but the collaboration with Hülkenberg could probably continue.

Hülkenberg's last appearances are not that long ago, it was only this season that he stepped in for Sebastian Vettel in the first two races of the season at Aston Martin and always represented him appropriately.
Although he was last under contract with a Formula 1 team at Renault in 2019, he still seems to be in good shape.
The father of the family has not yet commented on the speculation about his person, but the 181-time Formula 1 starter looks in top shape on his last Instagram posts.
So he could actually inherit his younger compatriot Schumacher, and a decision should be made in the coming weeks.
