A hard blow for France as the World Judo Championships approach in Tashkent (October 6-13), legend Teddy Riner announced this Monday noon his withdrawal from the competition following an ankle injury.
Medical examinations confirmed this absence.
“The medical examinations taken today have confirmed that I will not be able to resume judo for a few weeks, which therefore excludes my participation in the next World Championships in Tashkent
,” he wrote on Twitter on Monday.
