The Israeli Windsurfing Championship in the IQ foil model ended today (Monday) in Haifa with the return of Kati Spichkov to the top of Israeli surfing, when she takes first place in the heroic sailing.
In men, Yoav Omar won by a large margin.
Spichkov qualified for the semi-finals of the championship from second place overall in the competition, as she demonstrates high abilities.
In the semi-final she won convincingly and together with Naama Gazit advanced to the final and in fact guaranteed herself a medal.
In the final, Maya Morris was already waiting, who received the direct ticket, because she won the competition qualifiers.
The cruise started tight, when towards the third buoy, Spichkov unexpectedly fell while making a turn.
While she came to her senses and got back on the board, her rivals managed to open a significant gap on her.
Spichkov did not give up and chose a different cruise line from the two, a decision that proved itself, when she reached the last buoy ahead of them and won the competition, against all odds.

Spichkov said at the end of the competition: "I'm working hard to reduce the gaps and I see that I'm making progress. The victory in the Israeli championship for me is a landmark, but the main goal is the world championship next month."
The men's was won by Yoav Omar, who led throughout most of the stages of the competition, finished the qualifiers in first place and waited for the winners of the semi-finals.
The men's semi-final cruise opened with a disqualification in the jump of Yoav Cohen and Daniel Basik Tishash.
The second jump was clean and in the end Tom Reuveni and Ido Pomeranz won.
The men's final was a one-sided affair, with Yoav Omer leading from the start and finishing with a large margin ahead of Pomeranz and Reuveni.
This is the third gold medal in a row for Omar, who said at the end: "It's always fun to compete in Israel. Tom and I fought throughout the competition and we will continue to challenge each other. This is our way to improve as a team so that we reach the target competitions in the medal position."
