Footballer Amon-Ra St. Brown has shone again for the Detroit Lions in the US professional league NFL and set an age-old club record.

The German-American managed a touchdown in the sixth straight game across the season, St. Brown drew level with Leon Hart (1951) and Herman Moore (1994).

Next week the wide receiver will be the sole top position.

St. Brown scored two touchdowns at 36:27 against the Washington Commanders.

With a 13-yard catch, the pass recipient made it 11:0 in the first quarter, and in the final phase the 22-year-old caught a ball from eleven yards to make it 35:21.

Last season, St. Brown had two touchdowns in a game as a rookie.

"I expect that from myself," said the 22-year-old football professional of the German Press Agency after his Detroit Lions' first win of the season.

“I want to do more, I want more yards, more touchdowns.

If I don't get a touchdown, I'll be pissed."

The Lions, who have been chronically unsuccessful in recent years, celebrated their first win of the new season after the opening defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles (35:38).

Raiders give huge lead

The Las Vegas Raiders, meanwhile, gave up a victory they thought was certain in a wild game.

Despite leading 20-0 at halftime, the Raiders lost 23-29 to the Arizona Cardinals after overtime.

According to the US news agency AP, the Raiders had never before given up a 20-point lead in the National Football League.

Only with the last play did the Cardinals equalize and forced overtime.

A dropped ball made the difference as the Cardinals carried it into the end zone.

Stuttgart's Jakob Johnson, who is under contract with the Raiders, was not used.
