Syria's youth football team snatches the qualifying card for the Asian finals with merit

Damascus, SANA- On the merits, the Syrian youth football team managed to snatch the ticket to qualify for the AA Cup finals.

Well-deservedly, the Syrian youth football team managed to snatch the qualification ticket to the Asian Cup finals scheduled in Uzbekistan next year, after defeating Turkmenistan by four goals to one at the end of its qualifying campaign.

Our team qualified by coming second in the fourth group of qualifiers, one point ahead of Jordan, to come in fourth place among the best second-placed teams, according to the tournament system, which stipulates that the first-placed in each group qualifies for the Asian finals, along with the top 5 ranked teams. The second in the ten groups in addition to the host Uzbekistan team for the finals.

Our team, led by Dutch coach Mark Fota, won second place in the qualifiers from three victories, which it won over China Taipei with a goal without a response, the Mariana Islands team with ten goals without a response, and the Turkmenistan team with four goals against a goal, knowing that it received one loss against Jordan. With a goal of two goals, which topped Group D with 10 points, ahead of our team by one point, then came China Taipei third with 7 points, then Turkmenistan with 3 points, and finally the Mariana Islands team without points.

The squad of our national team in its match against Turkmenistan at the end of the qualifiers included Muhammad Hassouni, Khaled Al-Hajja, Ali Al-Rina, Amer Al-Fayyad, Malik Janair, Mahmoud Al-Nayef, Mahmoud Al-Aswad, Elias Safar, Al-Miqdad Ahmed, Hozan Othman and Zakaria Al-Ramadan.
