Will Marco Asensio cross the lines at the end of the season?
The answer is an unequivocal yes, or at least that's what was published today (Monday) in the Spanish "El Mundo Deportivo".
According to the report, Barcelona is keeping an eye on the 26-year-old Spanish midfielder who is ending his contract with arch-rival Real Madrid.
According to the media in Madrid, Asensio will not extend his contract at the club, mainly due to the fact that Rodrigo, Feda Valverde, Vinicius Jr. and Karim Benzema have established their status as Ancelotti's squad players and the midfielder remains as a squad player at most.
At the same time, Barcelona believe that he has the skills to become a star, and of course do not ignore the fact that he could join for free.
In recent weeks, the player's situation at the club has been shaken, and the evidence was clear - the midfielder did not participate in the game against Mallorca, and in the Madrid derby held yesterday, he came on as a substitute in the 86th minute.
Precisely in the game where he did get minutes - in the Champions League game against Leipzig last week he scored, but played only 26 minutes.
Already in the summer it was claimed that Real would try to sell Asensio and his name was linked with various teams such as: Milan, Napoli, Arsenal and Newcastle, but a good offer for him was not accepted.
Despite the little credit with the Blancos, Asensio kept his place in the Spanish national team ahead of their matches against Switzerland and Portugal in the Nations League - and he will of course hope to maintain his status as a national team player in the World Cup in Qatar as well.
