The Syrian Al-Thawra club lost to Algeria's Kosidar 61-53 points in its first match in the Arab Women's Basketball Club Championship currently being held in Tunisia.
Al-Thawra will meet the Orthodox tomorrow, while Al-Hilal will face next Friday, and the first round will conclude with the Beirut sports meeting next Saturday.
The first group included the Tunisian Al-Amal Sports Clubs, the Emirati Sports Club Sharjah, the Algerian Al-Madina Al-Satafia, the Jordanian Al-Fuhais Youth, the Somali Mogadishu City and the Egyptian Smouha.
The tournament system stipulates that the first of the first group plays with the fourth of the second group, the second of the first group with the third of the second group, the second of the second group with the third of the first group, and the first of the second group with the fourth of the first group.
