Russia's military invasion of Ukraine caused all of its football teams to be suspended by UEFA, which today (Tuesday) officially announced: the Russian national team is also suspended from the Euro 2024 qualifiers, which means that the Russians will not participate in the Euros for the first time in 2000.

UEFA also announced that - 53 national teams will participate will participate in the Euro qualifier draw that will be held in Frankfurt on October 9.

The format will be ten houses, of which there are seven houses with five teams and three houses with six teams.

The first two teams from each house will receive an automatic ticket to the Euros to be held in Germany, which received an automatic ticket, while the other three places will be decided in the playoff games to be held in March 2024.

As you remember, the football organizations (and later also in basketball and other sports) decided to suspend the Russian teams and national teams from all international activities until further notice following the war in Ukraine.

The decision entered into force on February 28, 2022 and no change is in sight.

As a result, the Russian national team did not participate in the last Nations League campaign and the teams also do not take part in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League matches.
