In the afternoon, the club chaired by Enrique Cerezo has issued a statement condemning the racist chants.

Before Sunday's derby at the Metropolitano, several hundred Atlético fans began to chant: "Vinicius you are a monkey, Vinicius you are a monkey".

During the match, part of the stands began to sing: “Vinicius die”.

Through the loudspeaker it was requested to stop;

In response, lighters, several bottles of water, and one glass bottle were thrown onto the lawn.

LaLiga announced yesterday Monday that he will denounce the chants before the Anti-Violence Commission.

It is not the first time that Atlético fans have starred in episodes of this type.

Last March, for example, there were racist chants against a Real Madrid player in the round of 16 of the Youth League and UEFA punished the club with a match behind closed doors.

“This episode is not an isolated case but a new example of a reality that has already been denounced many times: Marega, Kameni, Williams, Marcelo, Alves or Eto'o, among others, are some of the players who have suffered racist insults ”, states the declaration of Congress.

The parliamentary groups have also stressed that the agitation of hate “is not just a strictly sporting issue” and have highlighted the educational component of football: “From the football fields, the insults go to the schoolyards.

Therefore, this parliament cannot look the other way”.
