Personnel-stricken SG Moosburg catches 46 goals - only HSG scores at the start of the season

At the start of the season, SG Moosburg was not defensively suitable for the district league and scored 46 goals.

The HSG Freising-Neufahrn at least gets a draw.

District

– The start of the season for the handball players in the district league was moderate.

In the three games with district participation, only HSG Freising-Neufahrn got a point.

The Echinger had a little bad luck in the narrow defeat against the state league relegated Altenerding - the SG Moosburg, on the other hand, went under completely after a desolate defensive performance in Schleißheim.

The hosts would have preferred to postpone the game because of various corona cases - including the top performers Moses Becker, Ernad Huzejrovic and Janic Bittner.

But that's not so easy this season, so you had to come up with an emergency cast.

Coach Erik Brasko therefore raised two players from the second to fill the bench at least a little.

Against Pfaffenhofen, HSG needed a little time before they could set their own pace.

After a 4:7 deficit it worked better, after almost 20 minutes the strong Andras Falkner scored to give the hosts an 8:7 lead.

Until the break, however, Freising-Neufahrn fell behind again - and a few minutes after the restart, the team was even 13:17 behind.

Tobias Kapser controlled the offensive game well from the middle position, and Konstantin Vopel was also in good form.

The HSG now acted very efficiently - in the second half the hosts converted 15 of 20 throws.

In the final phase, the lead changed back and forth - and a few seconds before the end, Alexander Heldner still had a huge chance of scoring the winning goal.

However, he missed, so Freising-Neufahrn had to settle for a point.

Coach Brasko was reasonably satisfied with his team's performance, but scolded the referees: "Three times there were seven meters from the outside attacks by Pfaffenhofen without touching my players and we only got free throws for fouls.

That can not be."

SCE coach Thomas Gentgen spoke of an unfortunate defeat after the game: "We definitely deserved a point." The first fifteen minutes, after which the score was only 3:3, was a sticking point.

"We missed three counter-attacks and three more 100% chances." The game was hotly contested afterwards.

Again and again there was a draw on the scoreboard, only after 13:13 did the guests score twice in a row to make the break 13:15 from Echinger's point of view.

In the second section, the extremely strong Thomas Landsmann continued to drive his squad forward.

In defense, Laurenz Reichert also presented himself in good shape in the leading position in the 5:1 variant that was practiced at times.

26:26 was the score a few minutes before the end when, of all people, compatriots received an unnecessary time penalty.

The Altenerdinger took advantage of this superiority situation, scored two goals and thus ensured the preliminary decision.

Coach Gentgen: "Despite the defeat, I'm very satisfied with the performance.

The men showed a biting attitude from the first minute.”

A look at the result confirms the words of SGM trainer Otto Holländer: "In defense, almost nothing went right with us today." The large gaps in the defensive network would have made it easy for the Schleissheim team to score goals - the Dreirosenstadt team also conceded about ten counter-attack hits after ball losses.

Because of numerous injuries, Coach Holländer had to regroup the team, and in the game Daniel Stuckenberger also had to leave the field.

Not many of the top performers remained, Markus Voggenreiter, Daniel Kumpmann and Jakob Schäflein almost had to play through due to the lack of alternatives.

At least it was true in attack.

"You usually win with 33 goals," emphasized the coach.

In the first section, the SGM was already 7:14 behind before the match was balanced until the break.

After that, the home side pushed the pace.

In the meantime, it was 20:32 from Moosburg's point of view - and it didn't get any better in the period that followed.

Whether it was a 6-0 or 5-1 formation, the defensive wasn't right until the final whistle.

In the end, Otto Holländer even let his men try a completely offensive defense.

"I didn't care how high the result was." In the end, the coach praised the hosts: "TSV Schleißheim is a brutally strong team.

She will definitely play a good role this season.”
