After a two-year break, the summer biathlon took place again at SG Eschbaum as part of the Oberbayern Cup.
Isen – Even a rainy, cold day didn't stop athletes or spectators from coming to Isen.
Over 100 athletes from Upper and Lower Bavaria competed in the summer biathlon sprint, mass start, laser biathlon and target sprint classifications.
The laser biathlon, which was offered for children under the age of twelve for the first time, was particularly well received by the spectators.
A laser gun was used instead of an air rifle.
The competition was held in mass start, and the future biathlon youth enthusiastically cheered on by the spectators.
The Target Sprint also took place for the first time this year.
This form of competition has become established in recent years, as there are also international competitions here.
On the weekend, 1./2.
October, the German championships take place in Bayern Park in Reisbach.
Alex Friedl, Ferdinand Linner, Moritz Kellner, Christoph Larasser, Zeno Larasser, Anni Heinisch and Helga Bauer ensured a total of nine podium finishes for SG Eschbaum.
Gambrinus Niedergeiselbach secured the majority of participants, especially with many young athletes who successfully ran their first competitions.
Four podium places were achieved with Lena Moser, Tim and Ben Matkovic and Theresa Detterbeck.
The Burgschützen Burgrain won the team ranking.
Julia Perner, Anna and Christian Wieser, Franzi, Georg-Michael and Axel Reiner, Franzi and Johanna Schillinger and Luisa Peintner were also happy about podium places.
Marksman Hubert Müller thanked all the organizers, helpers and sponsors and especially the Fruth family, who made the venue available.
