Super failure: Allegri is in the spotlight, but the Juventus management is even more to blame

The Super League dream and Andrea Agnelli's international revolution have caused the Old Lady to lose her identity completely, and while Massimiliano Allegri is under fire and concentrating on excuses, the real address of the club's plight is upstairs.

And how can Maccabi Haifa benefit from the situation?

Summary: Monza - Juventus 0:1 (Sport1)

"I'm only interested in the results," Masimiliano Allegri made sure to say during his first term at Juventus when he was criticized for a too boring style.

"If you want entertainment, go to the circus," claimed the coach and presented receipts - five consecutive championships, four wins in the Italian Cup, two qualification for the Champions League final.

He saw himself as a successful person who did not take into account the background noise, and developed considerable cynicism towards the journalists.

The dogs bark and the caravan moves on.

Well, if this is the yardstick by which Allegri wants to measure his work, then right now in terms of net results the situation is catastrophic, and on Sunday Juventus deteriorated to a new, unique low.

Newcomer Monza, in their first ever season in the top flight, came into the meeting with the Old Lady with one point in their balance, and with a new coach, 38-year-old Raffaella Palladino, who had never coached a senior team before and was appointed as a complete surprise.

Against Allegri's team, Monza achieved the first victory in its history in Serie A, kept a clean sheet for the first time, and even deserved more than "just" 0:1.

Its link starred Nicolo Rubella, the star of the youth team who belongs to Juventus and made a positive impression in the pre-season camp, but was loaned out - and surpassed the center of the field of the parent team.

Angel Di Maria's dismissal in the first half didn't help, of course, but it mostly shows his frustration.

The Italian expected a different reality when he signed as a free agent in the summer, and some claim he is unhappy with Allegri's path.

After the home loss to Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday, the Argentinian approached Ecardius Milik and asked: "Why did he replace you?".

The Polish striker had no idea, and this choice really seemed absurd.

Milik is in a very positive personal momentum, scored four goals in two weeks, and also found the back of the net in the match against the Portuguese.

What logic is behind his replacement in the 70th minute when the team is behind and desperately needs a scorer smelling goals in the box?

After all, you don't even need to conserve your strength - Milik was sent off when he took off his shirt during his "goal of victory" celebrations against Salernitana a week ago.

This conquest was invalidated by a wrong and scandalous VAR decision, but the red card was not canceled, and the Pole did not take part in the match against Monza.

So why wasn't he on the pitch in Money Time against Benfica?

Di Maria was curious to know, but the result is clear - Juventus lost, and has zero points after two rounds.

In the upcoming meetings against Maccabi Haifa, the fate of the third place in the house that leads to the European League will be decided.

This is the pinnacle of Allegri's ambitions at the moment.

Allegri, by the way, found good words for the pasta that evening.

"Players have to be creative. Di Maria came in and sent a long ball that put one of our players in front of the goalkeeper. Can I say it was planned? No, it was Di Maria. I have players like that in the squad, and when they are fit, we have a strong team," stated the coach , and along the way he mentioned the injuries to Paul Pogba and Federico Caesa, which apparently destroyed the perfect lineup he had planned.

This quote is extremely problematic, because it holds that the coach has no influence on offensive play.

He just needs to send the stars to the grass, and they will already do the job thanks to their talent.

When you look at Juventus' games this season, this is the reality.

There is no guiding hand, no plans whatsoever, and the few conquests of the old lady are due to lightning.

Dušan Vlahović, for example, sent two crazy free balls for connections against Roma and Spezia, and these are moments of magic that every fan enjoys watching, but Allegri has no contribution to this.

For his approach, he should not have a contribution either.

The link is gone, and Vlahovic barely receives balls, and even the tiny Monza is able to control what is happening and dictate the pace.

It used to not be like that.

In the first term at the club, Allegri formed a close relationship with stars and came up with interesting ideas for them.

He convinced, for example, Mario Mandzukic to play on the left wing, and the Croatian liked the role so much in the end that he was disappointed when he had to return to his natural position as a central striker.

Both in Milan, which he marched to the championship in 2011, and in Juve, the coach proved the ability to get along in a dressing room full of ego and steer the ship as he saw fit.

However, today he has much less ego at his disposal in a much less flashy squad, and one gets the impression that the aura has faded.

As someone who was used to dismissing style criticism that "only the wins mattered", Allegri looked rather lost when the victories in question disappeared.

It's no joke - Juventus won only twice in the seven raucous cycles in the league, and it was a disaster even if the dramatic turnaround against Salernitana was happy.

If you include the Champions League, it is two wins in nine games, against Sassuolo and Spezia.

Such a poor balance is not remembered even from the most difficult days during the restoration of the Kalchopoli affair.

The style is still horrendously boring, but now it's also completely ineffective, and that combination is driving fans crazy.

Curses directed at the coach are heard in the stadium, and statements against him on social media have long gone beyond the bounds of good taste.

The commentators are also gradually raising their tone.

After the defeat against Monza, the Totosport newspaper went with the headline: "Allegri's prisoners".

A consensus is forming, according to which it is necessary to fire the coach in order to have a chance to get out of the crisis.

Trying to divert the anger from him?

It's convenient for the management, because it got used to turning coaches into scapegoats, while the main blame for the club's condition rests on them.

Andrea Agnelli has been gradually destroying Juventus for years now, and is the main person responsible for the ongoing fiasco.

He invested a lot of energy in the project of establishing a Super League alongside Florentino Peres.

It is not enough for him to spew nonsense about football not being of interest to the younger generation.

He initiated the strategic change in which tradition was neglected in order to appeal to the international audience.

The change of the old and beloved symbol that provoked outrage among the fans was an integral part of the turnaround that damaged the most justified foundations of the team.

The signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, in complete opposition to the policy according to which no one is bigger than the club, was also very fundamental.

There can be disagreements about the professional contribution of the Portuguese, but the image damage was much more significant.

Juventus has lost its identity, and not because of coaches.

Maurizio Sarri was brought in instead of Allegri to make the team more attractive, but was immediately dismissed.

Andrea Pirlo went on without any warning, and was also sent off.

Allegri has now been signed to a long-term contract until 2025, and this makes his dismissal a financially problematic business.

This may have been Aignelli's secret goal - to make the coach a central target for long-term criticism and to use him as a human shield.

Meanwhile, CEO Maurizio Arrivabana has already stated: "It would be crazy to fire Allegri now.

He has a project to develop here in the next four years."

If it seems to the management that the project is going well, then it is a project designed to destroy Juventus.

If and when it happens, it will be possible to be angry with Allegri as well, but the real address for public anger should be different.
