The disc golf course on the Gögerl has been around for 40 years.
This is celebrated by the "Bavarian Airhawks" - with a two-day tournament with a strong field.
Weilheim - "Birthday Challenge" is the name of the disc golf tournament that the "Bavarian Airhawks" are organizing on Saturday and Sunday, September 24th and 25th, on their course on the Gögerl.
The 18-lane course has been in existence for 40 years this year, and the "Airhawks" are organizing the competition for this reason.
Two rounds (9.15 a.m./1.15 p.m.) are on the program on Saturday.
On Sunday, the final round (starting at 9 a.m.) begins with a "golf start".
This means that all flights start one after the other on lane one.
A flight consists of several players who complete their courses together.

The 72 starting places are all occupied.
As tournament manager Richard Schönl explains on request, the tournament is very well attended.
Several top players have announced themselves, including the former Weilheimer Benedikt Heiss, who has already completed European Championship starts for Germany.
Dominik Stampfer (fourth place in the Disc Golf Championships in 2021) and the Austrian Florian Lingenhel (2021 Vice State Champion/2019 and 2018 Junior State Champion) are also among the favorites.

The competition is considered the official B tournament of the "German Disc Golf Tour", and the difficulty of the holes has been increased again for this purpose.
The tournament serves many participants as a dress rehearsal for the DM, which takes place in Rüsselsheim a week later.
In spring, after a break of a few years, a well-attended tournament took place on the Gögerl course.
This season, the members of the "Airhawks" have already celebrated a number of tournament successes, including the Bavarian championship, which was held for the first time.
