Unnecessarily exciting

Ice hockey upper division club SC Riessersee quickly leads 4-0 against HC Landsberg, but then drops sharply.

In the end there is still a 5:3 victory.

Landsberg - That's it.

SC Riessersee's preparation for the 2022/23 Oberliga season is over.

The record from seven friendlies: five wins, two defeats.

The fifth success followed on Friday evening with the 5:3 at HC Landsberg Riverkings.

However, the dress rehearsal for the start next Friday at the Starbulls in Rosenheim raised a few questions.

After third one, the Landsbergers probably asked themselves: How are they supposed to stop this SCR?

Because the white-blue Express was clearly too fast for the Riverkings.

The hosts' net rang for the first time after 80 seconds because the SCR immediately built up pressure and Robin Soudek was able to convert a rebound.

The copy of it followed in minute four.

Again Jan-Niklas Pietsch and Kevin Slezak prepared, again one of the guests dusted, this time Christopher Chyzowski.

During this phase, the hosts didn't know where the back and the front were, and Riessersee completely turned their heads.

The third followed just 13 seconds after the second goal.

Soudek touched a fine pass from Lubor Dibelka, causing the disc to tumble through the HC goalie's pads and into the goal.

It continued in ten minutes.

A debacle for Landsberg threatened.

Would have been possible in third one, but not every shot by the SCR was a hit.

But you can often see in sport what happened in section two.

The previously so dominant team already saw themselves as the winners, shifted down at least one gear and only did what was absolutely necessary.

As a result, however, the white-blue came too late in many a duel and then went to the penalty box.

And the Landsbergers showed that they are very good at their power play.

1: 4, 2: 4, 3: 4 - Within these 20 minutes the game was completely open again, as SCR conceded three goals while being outnumbered.

What you also often see in such encounters: the previous dominator has problems with the clutch and cannot get the higher gear back in.

In the final third, a duel developed at eye level.

In view of the fact that Landsberg cannot be counted among the big calibers of the Oberliga Süd, that does not necessarily speak for the Riesserseer.

But after 50 minutes of play they had the opponent under control again.

The game shifted more and more back to the Landsberger third.

At first, however, the decisive goal was not scored because the HC defended itself with all its might and threw itself into every shot.

It was only when the hosts took out their goalie for a sixth man that it was Marlon Wolf who redeemed the guests with the 5:3.

All in all: The SCR was simply too sure after the furious first ten minutes against completely overwhelmed Landsberger.

Next Friday against Rosenheim, the white-blue cannot afford such a weak phase.
