For once, the dog Gustl is not there this time, the rest of the family will be whizzing through the city center on Sunday.

The Miesbauers are at the start of the Erdinger Stadtlauf.

Erding/Schwaig – First Jakob (7) will tackle the 800 meters, then his sister, who is two years his senior, will do the 1.2 kilometer route, before mom and dad will do the ten kilometers.

Four runs, four different start times and something to eat in between?

Sounds like complicated organization, but it's not, at least that's what Nathalie Miesbauer thinks.

"We'll spend the whole day in the city center, food is provided, and we'll also take a little something from home," says the 36-year-old.

With a view to the weather forecast, she adds: "If it rains, we will drive the children to grandma's early."

Canceling when it could get a little wet is not an option.

The family from Schwaig is looking forward to this Sunday far too much for that.

Nathalie Miesbauer and her husband Michael were there last year.

“It was a sure-fire success that Jakob and Luisa are now taking part.

They just wanted it, and we're happy," says the mother.

Sport is already very important to the Miesbauers.

Jakob is with the Kampfkatzen in the Erding Kickboxing Club and, like his sister Luisa, plays football at FC Schwaig – which his father has also done all his life.

But because the 36-year-old was always plagued by a few football-related niggles, he also discovered running for himself, says his wife.

"In the meantime he has also got into triathlon and was also in action at the Erdinger city triathlon this year."

She started running about a year and a half ago.

In 2020 the family got "a Corona dog", a Bavarian mountain sweathound.

"He needs exercise, and I'm on the road with him every day," says the assistant at a management consultancy.

You can walk three kilometers a day with this hunting dog, “but you can also run”.

Which is very practical, "because Gustl really accelerates".

She got fit at a course with the promise "Five kilometers in eight weeks".

That was exactly the right thing for a complete beginner like her, enthuses Nathalie Miesbauer.

Since then she has been doing her laps three times a week, last year she easily managed the five kilometers in the city run and now wants to tackle the longest distance that Trisport Erding offers.

And she doesn't just want to finish.

"I would actually like to run the ten kilometers in under 70 minutes," she says modestly.

Her husband is a bit more ambitious.

The BMW employee wants to put in the turbo and increase his performance from last year.

He had a 44 time there.

The chances are good that he can easily do it, because Michael Miesbauer is full of juice and has already completed a half marathon in Prague this year.

"Next year he's aiming for the marathon in Berlin," says his wife.

Michael Miesbauer, fan of large but also small events, which can sometimes be much more important.

He organized a charity run through the local cultural association Moosmotor Schwaig.

"It was very well received in Schwaig and is therefore an integral part of the Moosmotor program," says Nathalie Miesbauer.

Last year the donations went to the Children's Cancer Aid.

“This year, the donations will go to the 'All for Moritz' campaign.

The deceased was a close family friend and known to many brothers-in-law.”
