Roger Federer said goodbye in the early hours of Friday to Saturday from professional tennis.
The 41-year-old Swiss played the last match of his career alongside Rafael Nadal, his rival and friend, on an emotional night in London in which he said goodbye to top-level tennis amidst neon lights and partying, but also many tears.
Federer and Nadal burst into tears during the withdrawal of the winner of 20 Grand Slams, and Serbian Novak Djokovic, the other member of the Big Three
, was also moved.
, the triumvirate that has dominated world tennis for the last two decades.
Also present at the farewell were the Swiss's wife, former tennis player Mirka Vavrinec, their children and their parents, who hugged and kissed him on the court where the Laver Cup is being played this weekend, the competition that pits a European team with a world team from Friday to Sunday.
