Kenyan Kipchoge runs marathon world record in Berlin

He had announced it: exceptional runner Eliud Kipchoge wanted to improve his marathon world record in Berlin - and managed it almost playfully. The Kenyan crossed the finish line in 2:01:09 hours.

Marathon Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge from Kenya improved his world record in Berlin.

The 37-year-old ran the 42.195 kilometers on Sunday in an unofficial 2:01:09 hours. Kipchoge set the previous record four years ago at the same place in 2:01:39 hours.
